Frog Pond has 30 Pond Levels. The first five come from simple goals inside a run, and Levels 6 to 30 cost Tadpole Eggs, from 1 egg for Level 6 up to 100,000 for Level 30. Getting from Level 5 to Pond Master takes 345,807 eggs in total. Pond Level never resets when you migrate, and it controls which frogs, biomes, visitors and story chapters you can reach.

How do you raise your Pond Level? #
Each level has one requirement. When you meet it, you level up the pond from the Pond Level panel. For Levels 6 and up, the requirement is spending eggs, and they come out of your wallet when you level.
Because Pond Level survives every migration, it’s the real measure of progress in Frog Pond. Coins and frogs come and go with each run. Your level stays.
What do the first five Pond Levels need? #
These are designed to teach the game, and most players finish them in the first run:

How many eggs does each Pond Level cost? #
From Level 6, every level is paid in Tadpole Eggs. The running total shows how many eggs you’ll have spent since Level 5.

Costs climb roughly 1.5 times per level, while migrations pay the square root of a run’s coins. So a late-game run needs to be far bigger than an early one to cover a single level. That’s normal for the genre, and the reason levels in the 20s take many migrations each.
Which Pond Levels matter most? #
Not every level is equal. These are the ones that change how fast you grow.
Biome levels: 5, 10, 16 and 25 #
Each biome adds a production bonus to everything: +10% for Sunset Marsh, +25% for Deep Rainforest, +50% for Twilight Lagoon and ×2 for the Cosmic Pond. Only your highest biome counts, so the bonus replaces the last one rather than stacking. Moving from Twilight Lagoon (×1.5) to Cosmic Pond (×2) is a 33% jump in production.
Each new biome also earns an achievement worth +1%, +2%, +3% and +5% respectively, and those do stack.
Frog tier levels: 7, 11, 15 and 21 #
New tiers produce far more per frog: Glass Frogs make 260 coins a second each at base, Poison Darts 1,400, Golden Frogs 7,800 and Cosmic Frogs 44,000. Two of these tiers also bring abilities. Each Poison Dart fills event meters much faster than other frogs and cuts the time you spend on algae and herons. Each Cosmic Frog adds 0.5% to the eggs you get when you migrate.
Visitor levels: 6, 8, 12 and 18 #
Visitors leave Tadpole Eggs every time you greet them, which makes them a steady egg source outside migration. Bertram comes daily from Level 6, so Level 6 is the best one-egg purchase in the game. The schedules are in our daily rewards and visitors guide.
Do some story chapters need more than a Pond Level? #
Yes. Four chapters also need a friendship level with a visitor:

Each greeting adds 5 friendship, so Bertram reaches 50 after ten daily visits. Pip is the tricky one: he turns up every 5 to 10 days and stays for only an hour.
What titles come with Pond Level? #
Your title in the header follows your level: Sprout from Level 1, Pondling from 4, Pondkeeper from 8, Pondlord from 15, Pondmage from 22 and Pond Master at 30. There are also achievements for reaching Levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30, worth +1%, +2%, +3%, +5%, +7% and +15% production. Pond Master’s +15% is the biggest single achievement in the game.
What happens when you reach Pond Level 30? #
You get the last story chapter and the Pond Master title, which is the game’s finish line. Frog Pond is unusual among idle games in having one, and we compare it with others in idle games with an ending.
Level 30 also offers transcendence, an optional deeper reset. It sets your Pond Level and eggs back to the start in exchange for Stardust, and each point of Stardust adds 1% to all production permanently. Visitors, achievements, talents, rare frogs and story progress all stay.

No. Pond Level carries through every migration. Only transcendence, which is optional and only available at Level 30, resets it.

345,807 eggs from Level 5 to Level 30. The last five levels alone cost 287,000, so most of the total comes from late-game migrations worth thousands of eggs.
What is the max Pond Level in Frog Pond? #
Level 30, which earns the Pond Master title, the final story chapter and a +15% achievement.
Why can’t I hire Glass Frogs? #
Glass Frogs need Pond Level 7, which costs 3 eggs after Level 6’s single egg. You’ll need at least one migration first.
